It had a major role to play in Kate’s personality, I agree, but still the author could have cut down on details to make the novel a bit short. The story of Jamie (Kate’s father) though seemed a bit unnecessary to me. It makes you want to know what will Kate do now? How Kate dealt and played with different minds is a delight to read.
Other characters, and trust me there are many, held individual importance, creating a perfect web to this story. I had the love and hate kind of relationship with her throughout the read.
